What is Your evangel,
Paul's or Peter's,
or a mixture of both
There are
distinct differences between these two evangels.
In this
brochure the Bible quotes are from the Concordant literal Bible
(CLV). Published by: Concordant.org , and a free computer
concordance (with an Old Testament and New Testament CLV) is
available at Scripture4All.org
Paul's
writings come from the “New Testament” and are found in 14
books. All but Hebrews start with his name: Galatians, Hebrews
1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians,1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians,
Romans, Ephesians, Philippians, Philemon, Colossians, 1 Timothy,
Titus, 2 Timothy. The first seven books were written to the Jews
and Gentiles – Jew first, and the last seven were written for
the Church Today (ecclesia which is His body). See the book by
Danny Russino for additional Scriptural information (Chapter
8...etc.).
Both Paul
and Peter were trained by Jesus as to what He wanted them to do.
Peter and the 11 apostles were trained as they followed Jesus
for 3 years in Israel, just before He went to the cross. Paul
(Saul), on the other hand, was trained by Jesus after He arose
from the death of the cross:
Acts 9:1 Now Saul, still breathing out threatening and murder
against the disciples of the Lord, approaching the chief priest,
(9:2) requests from him letters for Damascus to the synagogues,
so that, if he should be finding any who are of the way, both
men and women, he may be leading them bound to Jerusalem.
(9:3) Now in his going
he came
to be nearing Damascus.
Suddenly a light out of heaven flashes about him. (9:4) And
falling on the earth, he hears a voice saying to him, "Saul,
Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" (9:5) Yet he said, "Who art
Thou, Lord?" Yet He said, "I am Jesus Whom you are persecuting.
(9:6) Nevertheless, rise and enter the city, and it will be
spoken to you what you must be doing."
Paul's
tasks and Peter's tasks were quite different, one from another.
Paul was to teach the nations (called the Uncircumcision – those
who had nothing to do with Israel) and Peter's task was to teach
the Circumcision (those of Israel).
Paul talking:
Galatians 2:7 But, on the contrary, perceiving that I have been
entrusted with
the evangel of the
Uncircumcision, (2:8) according
as Peter of the Circumcision
(for He Who
operates in Peter
for the
apostleship of the Circumcision operates in
me also for the nations), (2:9)
and, knowing the grace which is
being given to me, James and
Cephas and John, who are
supposed to be pillars, give to
me and Barnabas the
right hand
of fellowship, that we, indeed,
are to be for the
nations, yet they for the Circumcision- (2:10) only that we may
be remembering the poor, which same thing
I endeavor also to do.
Another difference between
Paul's and Peter's work, is that on Jesus' return, the believers
of the nations would be teaching the celestials (those living
throughout the universe), and the believers of the
Circumcision would be teaching
those of the earth.
Paul's
evangel:
Ephesians 6:12 for it is not
ours to wrestle with blood and
flesh, but with the sovereignties, with the authorities, with
the world-mights of this darkness, with the spiritual forces of
wickedness among the celestials.
Peter's evangel:
Revelation 5:9 And they are singing a new song, saying,
"Worthy art Thou to be taking the scroll and to open its seals,
For Thou wast slain and dost buy us for God by Thy
blood. Out of every tribe and language and people and nation.
(5:10) Thou dost
also make them a
kingdom and a
priesthood for
our God, And they shall be reigning on the earth."
The Bible has two main teachings, the 14 books from Paul and the
balance of the Bible for the Israelites. Both the Nations
(Gentiles, Uncircumcision), and the Israelites (Jews,
Circumcision), can learn from the entire Bible about how God
works, but the Nations get their commands only from Paul and the
Israelites from the balance of the Bible. Jesus Christ is in
charge of both groups, including all the unbelievers, until He
turns them all over to His Father:
1 Corinthians 15:25 For He must be reigning until He should be
placing all His enemies under His feet.
The back page, of this brochure, shows some comparisons between
Bible statements made from Paul's evangel and from Peter's
evangel. In comparing the two you may began to see why
“...Rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim 2:15) is so
important in obtaining a clear understanding of what God, our
Father is telling us through the Scriptures.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew
thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
